We have a process that we are waiting to see if we are candidates. It is an amazing technology that actually electrocutes the tumor. Check out the details at http://us.nanoknife.com/index.php/physicians/nanoknife_details/
and see for yourself. Click on watch & Learn at the left. Lorrie is slowly gaining strength due to our constant nutrition and detox therapy's we are doing. We meet with the oncologist a few days after Christmas to see what he has in mind. All of us wish to thank everyone for their support over the past few weeks. Also cant believe the wonderful people from Scottsdale Christian church that have been at our door with dinners ever since we got home from the hospital. From all of us to you and your family, Have a wonderful Christmas.....

Help Is On The Way
Just received a phone call from a friend of mine who's wife is at the same hospital we were at that his wife is recovering from a very difficult surgery by a doctor that I understand is a pioneer in his field. He wanted me to know that she is doing well but also wanted me to know that they discussed Lorries prognosis with the doctor and he asked them to please have us call him for a consultation. He believes there are many options for her condition and would like to see her asap. I googled him to find out more info on him and i cant believe the credentials this doctor Michael J. Demeure. You can read his bio at http://www.tgen.org/research/index.cfm?pageid=77&peopleid=247&view=profile

She's Home
We got Mom home tonight. I am so excited to roll over in bed and see her face rather than that pesky Labrador of mine laying on her pillow. :-) We have alot of work ahead of us to get her body packed with the nutrition she will need for any treatment we decide we will do. The house is packed with lots of organic fruits and vegetables for juicing and some superfood nutrition supplement her Aunt Julie provided for us. I will be keeping her daily prognosis updated for all of you as well as the treatment results we have ahead. I cant begin to tell you how wonderful all of you have been and such an encouragement to us while we were going through these daily challenges. We never at any time felt as though we were going it alone. As I said in my earlier post, that it is amazing to see our friends and relatives circle the wagons and show such incredible support to us. Each and everyone of you is very special to us and we will never forget it. I would also like to give special thanks to a doctor Ben Evans who is the resident physician at the hospital. Each time we would end up at the hospital over the past few months, he has always been there for Lorrie to see to her needs. Sometimes doctors have a tendency to be locked into a regimented day to day routine probably due to the many patients they see, but this doctor took the time to show that other side of himself that was compassionate and truly caring. An amazing doctor and I consider him a true friend. Would also like to thank Pastor Brian and his wife Pam for bringing dinner out to us tonight and for visiting us so many times while we were there. That was so helpful and considerate.

Fight for Life
Storms of life are strong enough
without cancer stepping in,
Came creeping through the back door
just counting on a win.
Engaging you in battle
we firmly stand our ground,
Armed with courage, faith and hope,
our mom's life we surround..
This fight rages day and night
the will to surivive is strong,
We will never surrender
In our lives you don't belong.
Prepare yourself to lose this time
our moms's life you won't take,
This is a fight you will not win
Cancer, make no mistake!

Almost Home
Surgeon came in yesterday and indicated that because she is able to walk the corridors and drink she would go home today. Unfortunately she is having problems eating and feels like the food is in her throat when she eats. We have called in the Surgeon and the gastrointestinal Doctor to take a look at her symptoms and hope it is just a side effect from the surgery. She is a little sad she couldn't come home today but she understands it is important to make sure when she comes home that I will be able to see to her nutrition needs. Your continued responses to her site for help finding solutions is fueling my tank and i am looking at all possibilities for her. Thank you all so much for your support...

She Drinks...
Well this has been a long awaited day. Lorrie has been given liquids to drink after 8 days of neither food or water, although she has been receiving lots of IV fluids to maintain some nutrition. We came into the E.R. on November 29th and she weighed 97 pounds, today she weighs 118 pounds. Her face and legs have filled out amazingly with all the fluids they are giving her. The surgeon indicated that she is coming along great and possibly might get to go home before the weekend. We met with the Oncologist last evening and he said that they would like to use chemotherapy treatment in thirty days to attempt to shrink the tumor. We have a few other doctors to discuss our situation with before we make a decision. I have received many emails from you with information on alternative treatments and want to thank all of you very much. If anyone knows of a liquid nutritional that I can make in an attempt to keep her body healthy and full of calories if we decide to go the chemo route, I would appreciate it sooo much. It needs to be high calories with very little sugar. It is very important that I find a way to keep her body at optimum nutrition over the next 30 days. Thank you for all your support ......God Bless

Day Three
For the record, Lorrie's pathology lab reports are in and it appears that the cancer she had in her stomach almost two years ago Adenocarcinoma, is showing it's ugly face again in the tumor they had found on her colon. The reason the surgeon didn't remove it was because he felt he would end up hurting her. Her physical condition just wouldn't allow it at this time. It was last night that I told Lorrie and Alicia the news from the surgeon that the test were conclusive about the Tumor. It was a very difficult thing to do to have to tell someone you love that a very terrible disease is rearing it's ugly head again. We all have ways of reacting to news that directly involves us and most of you know that if the news was directed about me, I would have flipped that hospital bed on its back. Lorrie just looked into my eyes and in agreement decided to move on to the next phase whatever it might be. I gave her my word I wouldn't leave one stone unturned that might help us beat this disease. I am currently scheduling consultations with two other highly recommended Oncologist for the best suggestions on where we go from here. I am surfing the internet myself in hopes of finding more information on possible alternative procedures to her condition. I would invite anyone that has heard of any treatments or procedures to email them to me at hseaton2u@earthlink.net and I will consider them all.

Day After
Lorrie's surgery was a little over twenty hours ago. She is in quite a bit of pain but the meds seem to take the edge off. Now five day w/ no food or water, it is incredible she hasn't faded away. Doctors indicate Sunday might be the first day they will let her drink water and maybe have a cup of jello. Holding at 97 pounds and still got that ear to ear smile.

12/3 Day of the Surgery
The surgery is today at 1:30. Lorrie said she rested good considering the amount of morphine they gave her through the night. Alicia spent the night with her and helped her. The doctor said they were going to give her some intravenous nutrition because she hasn't had water or food now since Sunday. I'll be updating her situation for all of over the course of the day. Again we thank all of you for your continued prayers and support.

Surgery Postponed until tomorrow
The surgeon has just indicated that because the Biliary stent Lorrie had inserted a month ago appears clogged and will require surgery to replace it which will be done this afternoon, he feels it is more important to rectify it rather than do the colon surgery today. It is now tentatively scheduled for tomorrow.

The Day of the Surgery
It's 12:45 Wednesday morning and I am sitting here at home finishing up her Blog while she sleeps in the hospital. I'll be back at her side at the crack of dawn and will posting all day on what is happening. The operation is at 3:30 pm and I expect it to take possibly three hours. The surgeon Dr. Rosenthal and God have a busy day today.....
