Day After

Lorrie's surgery was a little over twenty hours ago. She is in quite a bit of pain but the meds seem to take the edge off. Now five day w/ no food or water, it is incredible she hasn't faded away. Doctors indicate Sunday might be the first day they will let her drink water and maybe have a cup of jello. Holding at 97 pounds and still got that ear to ear smile.

I have learned not to get in between a mother and her daughter when she is playing care giver. I have a hard time getting my Daughter Alicia to leave and go home to get some rest without getting some snarls from both of them. They really are each others best friend.
I am so proud how Alicia has stepped up and reversed the role her mother has held for all these years. There is just something magical between a mother and her daughter.
Colby has been absolutely beside himself with all that is going on with his mom and was all but ready to forgo College exams to be here with his mom. We had a good man to man talk and I promised him I'd take care of her until he got home. Mom was happy to hear that he would be home in a little over two weeks to be by her side.
The words that you our family and friends have left here at Lorries site have given us so much positive energy. It has been truly amazing to see what people will do when one of their own is hurting. You have circled the wagons around us and given us hope that we can beat this evil disease and restore the magic that this woman has given me for over 28 years. I cant begin to tell you all how thankful we are to have you in our lives.... God Bless

Lorrie,
You have so much strength and courage. I know you will be feeling better soon.

Alicia, you are an amazing young women. You have so much to be thankful for with your loving family. Your mom is such a strong and tough women. Seeing her today made me feel stronger. She can endure so much, but always manage to worry about everyone else too, and still smile. If I can be of ANY help, please let me know. I love you all!

Without our dreams, there is no hope and without hope, there is nothing to look forward to.

Dream big and then take the actions needed every day that will lead you in that direction. Persist at all costs. This is the simple formula that leads to success.

One action at a time and one day at a time is the only way we get there. There are no short cuts.

Focus on one thing until it takes on a life of its own.

When we divide our time, we can only be half as effective and every time we change direction, we start all over. This is one of lifes great truths and there is no way around that..

If your dreams are as important to you as they should be, then keep your focus and don't let anything stand in the way of your destiny.
