She Drinks...

Well this has been a long awaited day. Lorrie has been given liquids to drink after 8 days of neither food or water, although she has been receiving lots of IV fluids to maintain some nutrition. We came into the E.R. on November 29th and she weighed 97 pounds, today she weighs 118 pounds. Her face and legs have filled out amazingly with all the fluids they are giving her. The surgeon indicated that she is coming along great and possibly might get to go home before the weekend. We met with the Oncologist last evening and he said that they would like to use chemotherapy treatment in thirty days to attempt to shrink the tumor. We have a few other doctors to discuss our situation with before we make a decision. I have received many emails from you with information on alternative treatments and want to thank all of you very much. If anyone knows of a liquid nutritional that I can make in an attempt to keep her body healthy and full of calories if we decide to go the chemo route, I would appreciate it sooo much. It needs to be high calories with very little sugar. It is very important that I find a way to keep her body at optimum nutrition over the next 30 days. Thank you for all your support ......God Bless

I'm so glad to hear Lorrie that you've put on some weight and are able to drink fluids ..

Just wanted to bop in here and let you know that I'm still praying and I know that GOD has HIS finger on your pulse...

Scott if there's anything I come across that would be useful I'll forward the info to you asap. I recently saw a commercial for a clinic here in Boulder that deals directly in laser alternatives for shrinking cancerous tumors. I'm hoping that there is more of these across the country. I'll try to get the info out to you.
Love You!!

Love U Both,
Lisa B.

So glad to hear you might get to go home soon. I have been thinking about you all day! We are stranded inside - major blizzard! I will send you some snowy pictures. Wish I could bring you some homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Love you - xoxo - Nicole
